Jonb67 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Hi all, Had the sobering experience of someone shunting the back of my spit last monday morning. Not that bad really - new wing, bootlid lights on one side and closer panel between the wing and boot required along with some panel beating to the rear valance. Problem is I don't have anyone local I trust to do the work - afaik the only decent triumph bodywork guy in my area has moved to france. Doesn't have to be a triumph specialist, just want someone capable. Can anyone recommend someone? I'm in Newton abbot, south devon, but willing to travel.
SteveA Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Sorry to hear about this, the nearest Triumph specialist that comes to mind is Triumphs Live On in Taunton, 01823 443966, no personal experience though.
SteveA Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Jon, where/have you got this work done? I'm looking for bodywork recommendations now also.
martinholmesuk Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 try http://www.southerntriumph.co.uk/ they did a wonderful job on my spitfire
SteveA Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Thanks Martin, I've put them on my list. So far I intend to talk to West Country Triumph http://www.westcountrytriumph.co.uk/ Milton Damerel Classics http://www.mdclassics.co.uk/index.shtml J.L. Classics http://www.jlclassics.com/ Bristol MG Workshop http://www.bristolmgworkshop.com/ Rees Bros http://www.reesbros.co.uk/ & Triumphs Live On in Taunton Any comments on these companies gratefully received
GHR630 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Go and talk to Andy at Taunton. Good bloke. He is currently restoring his GTR4 Dove for the trip to Classic Le Mans (as well as doing customer cars) so you can inspect that but don't disturb him 'cos he's part of my convoy!!! Seriously, his bodywork is pretty good. You might have seen the yellow "Speedster" Spit6 he took on the rounds for a couple of years. He is ex-Revington TR.
