HI folks,

I've stuck my delightfully polished Sprint alloys on my 1500 Spitfire but even with the addition of a 5mm space, the rims rub on the top wishbones at full lock. This has already rubbed off the wheel balancer and skimmed a touch off the rim and all under a mile's use. Anyway, I've ordered the Freelander studs as per this thread with the intention of upgrading to 10mm spacers so these studs will provide the required thread and thus the minimum of 'turns'. My question is what wheel nuts to use?

Will the Freelander ones fit with the Sprint alloys. Of course they'll fit the stud thread but will the wheel nut flare be too big to insert into the Sprint alloy and will the sleeve be the correct fit also, i.e.  not too narrow or too thick (or even too long!)

Anyone go a Freelander wheel nut to post the dimensions on here?

Cheers,

Sir Rustalot.

I don't know what the freelander wheel nuts are like, but the sprint wheels need a parallel shank to fit in the wheel, rather than a taper. A quick measure up of a sprint nut I have here has a shank diameter of 0.68" and a shank length of 0.53"

Something like this might work

Also Rally Design might be worth checking out http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/default.php

Thanks for doing that.

I've contacted Rallye Sport London asking the same question as they came up trumps in the past. I'll also look into Rallydesign, ta.

I'll return with my conclusions soon!

Oh, how do I insert an image? I'd like to show you my car! Can't seem to import an image etc using the text coding above.

late to the discussion, but about to upgrade my wheel studs on a GT6 MK III. on the rear axles, the flange with the studs protruding through the brake drum have small covers over them, like an additional washer which sits over each stud. How do I get them out so I can replace the rear studs?
