Your timing has been good @Hamish,
the wind had dropped considerably from last night but now it has picked up again. Amber warning extended until tomorrow afternoon.

Oh and to think warnings about wildfires were being issued until yesterday for the tinder dry conditions across the Highlands

Sorry to hear that.
Hope you get sorted quickly

w welcoming spread of sandwiches and a brew laid on.

await the 6.30 road book signing before mass exodus to Tebay.

Sorry to hear this @yorkshire_spam Sam, but as a silent lurker on the Whatsapp 'plebs' chat I can see your RAC / AA has arrived, at least. Hope you get back to base alright.

@Hamish you managing to get some sleep? Hope the Acclaim is roomy enough to get comfortable

That’s a bugger. :( Hope you’re not waiting too long for your recovery ride and you don’t have too far to go (too many changes of recovery drivers).

Made it this far. But I admit to feeling my age.

Glad to see you’re all still smiling, well done only a short hop now by comparison to what you’ve achieved!

Well done @Hamish! No small feat. Guaranteed to make you feel 15-20 years older than when you started. Some of those years will be refunded when you arrive back at Knebworth

There’s me thinking I’d want a full refund with a little extra on top.

That is a very decent total.

Good to see you at Gurston, though far too briefly. You need to come back and do Gurston hillclimb. It’s a good one.
