Hi Guys

just put together my last runs of the season at Harewood

steady improvement over the runs ending up with a personal best time.
and class wins on handicap for both days.
this was with considerable ring blow by and reduced compression especially on no’s 1 and 2

Whilst no greased weasel this year I am 2nd overall in the clubs championship.

Excellent result there Hamish. Nicely done.

Superb result, particularly given the weather and track conditions on the day.

Getting off the concrete at Harewood is tricky. Needs a good bit of sun to get some heat into it and even then with all the starts it's virtually a polished surface.

Shame about the engine but almost inevitable given the stick it gets. Hopefully a relatively straightforward glazebust and new rings.

And watching that I think there is more to get back especially by going a bit deeper into the approach to some of the corners. I'm looking forward to next year

Thanks

and

yes I agree with the later braking - but when I try I end up locking up and it gets untidy. My smoothest and least drama runs tend to be faster.
what I will be doing is reducing the rear brake grab a couple of clicks to reduce rear brake lock up. But recognise some of that is me changing down and too quick on the clutch release

Absolutely Hamish.

As for the rest, that was intended more as encouragement than criticicm. It's a tough gig but the videos and times show you getting better and better over the years.

And the better you get the harder/more nuanced each increment becomes. It's what is so addictive and at the same time so infuriating about sprints and hillclimbs.
