Steve 13-60 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Spotted this on carandclassic if any one wants to play with a Herald. https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1723465
Escadrille Ecosse Posted May 13 Posted May 13 What a fabulous idea. If I was closer and had room in the garage that would be perfect for the summer while I work on the Spitfire.
Nick Jones Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Interesting. Could go one of two ways depending on the personalities involved! 1
PeteStupps Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Interesting but I can't help thinking of pitfalls on both sides! Hope the owner has a thorough vetting process. I'd be reluctant to let a stranger use my car for 6 months, and I'd be similarly wary of handing over the required deposit to this person off the internet with "commitments abroad". Too cynical perhaps...
Nick Jones Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Yeah….. it seems like an attractive proposition for both sides on the face of it. And indeed could be great if the right people were to find each other. The offerer would appear to have the right attitude (though the mention of film work at the end gives me slight pause) and at £1,500 he’s not really covered himself as a Herald CV would have to be much rougher than that one appears to be bought for that money. Finding the other party with the right attitude and skill-set (depending on what might need doing) and positively identifying them will be a challenge. And even then the scope for grudge down the line if/when any modern crappy parts fitted fail….. Dorchester is 6 miles from work….. if almost tempted to see what kind of optimist does this…. Almost. Interestingly I forwarded the link to a local chat group which include a couple of people who appear to know just about every small chassis car in the area and no one recognises it. Similar concerns were expressed!
RedRooster Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Wonder why the 4 other cars in that cellar are not advertised.
