This is the point where the volume of the car seems to expand exponentially!

Get ready to fill the loft and then wonder where it all came from, more so when the car is back on the road and the loft is still half full of car!

That actually looks quite good.  Or at least better than any of ours were!  Yes, it's gone along the front edge, but round the headlights is good - and the front edge is fairly easy to fix.  What the support structure underneath like?

Bootlid looks good as does the passenger door.  Drivers door more of a challenge.  Could be repaired - or re-skin.

Not too bad, it required a new strengthener

Also done well on the eBay side too.

A set of adjustable Spax shocks which although they were fitted to a car were never used, need a bit of paint but everything works £43 and a set of Hel braided lines for £20

So adjustable shocks all round for the cost on 1 new shock.... result.

Currently searching for a cheap set of lowering springs2017141163_BraidedlinesSpit.thumb.jpg.dd1af7d307221d6615dac817d7f5cfa5.jpg1481644320_SpaxShocks.thumb.jpg.3df628f11063a014c80a4938818e9b41.jpg

Anyone know if these will do the job, I was looking for a 1" drop and I believe 7 1/4" may work so this would just need a spacer their springs lengths increase in 1" steps, they also do a heavier weight (they seem to go up in 50 lbs weights)

COIL OVER SPRING 7" - 2.25 X 350LB £24 each spring

A little more done this morning while it chucks it down with rain.

Knowing that the boot lid is a place that attracts rot I have covered the underside with Hydrate 8

I have also taken the paint of the passenger side door hinges and painted then in primer.

My driveway is quite steep and a few weeks ago I nearly lost the spitfire down the drive which could have been a disaster so I have been on the hunt for a winch.

I picked one up last week and the pictures didn't do it justice, I currently figuring out how to mount it. It has 30 metres of 6 tonne rating strap.

More progress today finally glued the rear wing on and sorted out some missing metal on the bottom of the door recess, a momentous occasion the last time this spitfire had a driver rear wing was 1993.

Also fitted the passenger door on and put a coat of paint on the bottom of the boot lid.
