Hamish
As many of you know I have been chasing an intermittent misfire on my 3a. ( as well as fixing up a hardtop!!) being intermittent it’s been a devil to replicate thus find. Didn’t really happen on the road it was a high revs high speed issue. Didn't appear on the dyno before this event so I thought it would be ok. The weather forecast was great what could go wrong. !!!...... Watch the video of my runs the camera ran out of battery for my last and my fastest ever run but you can see the difference a misfire run was 70-72 seconds my best run59.98 and no it wasn’t fuel surging away from the tank pick up on the bend
PeterC
Hamish, On all 4 runs it was fine at start and though the first corner, suggesting to me its heat-related. Could be the coil or maybe even plugs. It doesnt recover after a lift off which to my mind points away from fuel. What did you fettle before run4 ? Peter
Hamish
Peter i blew through the fuel line with an elec tyre pump. I think it cleared something. I suspect an old rubber pipe joining 2 rigid pipes breaking down. The tank has been cleaned out. And lots of new fuel pumps/pipework and ignition parts inc new electronic ignition and coil etc etc

Last and only time I was at Aintree I melted 3 pistons in the hairpin, from fuel siphoning down the overflow. 8psi boost and very lean dont mix. No trailer, drove home to Frodsham on 3 cyliders, plugs removed from the others... Peter

Used the experience to sort the suspension gremlins. Everyone should have a go, its what TRs are for. Your camera and sound are impressive, what do you use ? Peter Hi Peter the camera is a secondhand (ebay) GoPro hero 3 with a remote microphone (extension lead) mounted on the rear bumper overrider by the exhaust. Filmed in hd 60frames a second.
