Wind power

Recommended Posts

My other past time when I'm not  modifying my Stag is capturing the energy of wind being forced up a onward facing hill known as slope soaring. Here's one of my glass/carbon composite gliders.

Cool.  Friend of mine at school (scarily long time ago now) was into gliders and mostly made his own.  One I remember having a wingspan over 2m.  He mostly used to fly his from a hill near Goodwood (horse) race course.

Much more recently we happened across a large group of flyers with a wide selection of craft at Whitesheet Hill near Mere (and Stourhead).  Some truly amazing flying......

Whitesheets is a well known and top hill for slopsoaring and not far from the white horse at Westbury where my video was taken. Whiltshire has loads of great sites for it.
