GT6MK3
Day 320. I did go in to work, but after a couple of hours, the lure of a crisp clear spring day was just too much. Its about 18kms home if you turn right out of work. Turn left, and it can take a little longer...
Nick Jones
Maximum speed 117km/h.......... Working off some frustrations were we? Poor Vespa.....!
GT6MK3
Actually it'll sit on 110 quite happily. The rider gets nervous above that though... Last hour and a half home was all done at 100+, CHT didn't get over 327F.
GT6MK3
Day 321. Having a yarp with some other riders after a Club ride in the morning. Afternoon was spent back in the cage, where I was eventually found asleep at my desk... The ends and middle of the candle have little wax left. My record was 77 days of 12hr shifts straight, 9 days off which included multiple flights to and from, then another 36 days. Felt like i was in a zombie movie. GT6MK3
I once did 76 hours straight changing out the network in a factory, 11am tuesday till 3pm Friday. That one hurt. I rather stupidly then drove the 70 minute trip home. I was on the freeway, just holding it together, tucked in behind a truck that was doing a nice sedate 80k's an hour, when I'd swear an elephant stuck it's head over the back of the truck and looked at me. I was pretty sure I'd lost it, and figured I was probably crashed and hallucinating, but it stayed there. Eventually, I pulled up along side the truck. "Ashton's Circus". These days I Uber it when I'm tired.

JohnD
In my training, I worked a "1 in 2" as an intensive care and resuscitation registrar, caring for an eight bed, ICU/post-cardiac unit, and responding to cardiac arrests and critical injury calls in a major London Hospital. 24 hours on 24 hours off, but you had to attend consultants' rounds as well, and assist the anaesthetist. and perfusionist at cardiac surgery. Weekends started at 0900 Friday, ended 0900 Monday, 72 hours straight, bedroom (hah!) next door to the unit, opposite end of the hospital from A&E. Ye gods, I was fit from all the running, but I was beyond knackered after a year. But it made me the man I am. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn.
