Hello from Devon

Recommended Posts

Hi all just realised I have been very rude and not introduced myself.

I'm another refugee from that other place...

A long term triumph fan I have owned my TR3a twice. First bought as a very down at heel unroadworthy heap in 1979 subsequent rebuilt by myself and co-owned for 10 years with my late friend Hugh. He and his family then moved to the US and he bought my share of the car and off it went to live a new life. Fast forward to 2009 and through tragic circumstances I buy the car back from Hugh's estate.

In 2015 I took the car of the road to do an engine bay repaint and we'll you known what happened........I near enough performed another rebuild

Heres the car at Kop Hill last year.

Hi all

Peters, Kop is very much a demo event. I was lucky enough to get and entry and spend time with the Chiltern TR group who do a great event for the weekend. It's possibly the straightest climb in the country hence safe for me!

Paul , I  prefer Roundheads to Cavaliers.....gosh they were horrid cars. I had one once as a company car. From new it leaked like a sieve. It was common to have the rear foot wells 2" deep in water after some rain. Absolute *&@!.

Hi Iain.

Good to see you over here.

Is a hard top useful. There is one for sale on the “other”site.

Is it right money given you need fitting kit ?

Hamish, its my hardtop! So great value for money:biggrin: It must be for your car, its already in factory black cellulose....OK its 60 years old and needs a refurb, but its sound, has the very hard to get aluminium drain channels and an original rear screen.

I run mine with it nearly all the time.....only because the "works" cars were like that in period. It makes a very big difference to body stiffness and is good in poor weather.

Ha ha should have realised !!

so you have 2 that’s just greedy

I had a hard Top with my last classic  an SP250 but to be never used it . But consider a hard top added value?

i presume it would fit with my Revington roll bar ? My soft hood frame does -just.

I know nothing of the TR3 hardtop are they lined ?

Is the fitting kit easy to fit ? Especially the screen brackets ?

i see moss do a kit

https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/hardtop-tr2-3a.html

is it a real faf to take on and off ?
