Urge
I know you lot luv a photo or ten, (I know I do,) Here as some of the GT6 roll cage I designed and made myself It started out as a TV aerial mast, cheap and easy to bend, made the pattern I wanted, once that was perfect, I set about making the proper one, I have added three photos of the Spitfire roll cage at the end of the photos, (as with that, I have a harness bar, ) Due to storage in the GT6, I didnt want that, so I have extra lugs (not shown) on the diagonals for a harness

JohnD
Urge. Oh, dear. I hate to be such a critic, of hard work and imagination, but have you read the MSA Yearbook, Section K, Safety, on roll cages? (AKA RollOver Protection Systems, ROPS, today) So many things that would make this ROPS unacceptable. Quote Para 1.3.1 (the first. the very first, that isn't a definition) "1.3.1. Main, Front and Lateral Rollbars. These frames or hoops must be made in one piece without joints." (My underline) and the material, "It started out as a TV aerial mast, cheap and easy to bend, " Section K, on material, " 1.4.1. Specifications of the tubes used: Minimum Material Cold Drawn Seamless Unalloyed Carbon Steel, containing a maximum of 0.3% of carbon." and "Minimum Dimensions (Ø in mm) a) Mandatory tubular members 45 x 2.5 (1.75†x 0.095â€) or 50 x 2.0 (2.0†x 0.083â€)." I feel sad to have to point this out to you, Urge, when you have gone so far, but in a safety critical matter my feelings don't matter. Or yours. Please reconsider and rebuild, properly. Read the whole of the Yearbook 2017 at https://www.msauk.org/assets/bluebook2017completevlow-res.pdf SEction K starts at page 156.
