Nick Jones
Shamelessly reposted from CT http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20161008/local/driver-unhurt-as-car-overturns-at-malta-classic-grand-prix.627350 Interesting "undertray"...... JohnD
Very! Anyone here from Malta? Did he find any advantage? I like the idea of a Vitesse in a Grand Prix, any Grand Prix! JOhn
oldtuckunder
Interesting "undertray"...... Yes that's the sort of thing I was wittering on about on the Bonneville topic, but bring it forward over the floor pans as far as the front out riggers. JohnD
Clifford DeBono is on the Malta Triumph Facebook Group. He's agreed to post some details of his car, when he has time. John
Nick Jones
That would be good. If I understood the report right he did manage to finish second in the actual race (the following day) so either damage was very light or there was a heroic all-nighter! Happily my own unplanned inversion (Herald 1200ish, Cricket St Thomas hillclimb c.1989) occurred before the age of universal digital photography and the internet. There was a photographer present and he got some excellent pics (I nearly got him so they are quite close-up!) but I wasn't paying his prices to immortalise my own incompetence!
