Captain
Has anyone any experience of using Nick's CV joint conversion on a GT6 and used the M12 Freelander wheel studs. I'd like to use the original steel wheels and wondered which wheel stud nuts people have used with this arrangement. Also...........what size / type nuts would I need if I were to convert to MInilite type wheels? Cheers Andy
zetecspit
If you use the MGF rear hubs they have M12 studs as standard. The studs fit though a standard steel wheel with no issues. Which steels? the type with the small plastic (metal on GT6) centre plates? That is tricky as the M12 nuts are bigger. You may be able to get some M12 nuts (they would need to be a decent length) machined to take off the hex and make them round for the same distance as teh original nuts. They would still be bigger. Then drill the centre plates out to match? With alloys, most are a 60 degree taper seat and the nuts are easily available. Used as OE on most fords, mgf etc etc etc
