mattius
I seem to remember a while back someone posted you could get rear brake shoes for spitfires that had mintex 1144 material on them? Anyone know about this? Thanks
CHRIS211083
If you get your current shoes relined you can have whatever lining you want, there is a place in Sheffield I think. Chris.
Nick Jones
Someone did look into this a couple of years back (John D?). IIRC it was either extremely expensive and/or they wanted to do a reasonable size batch. I did have a quantity of used shoes at the time but it was a big chunk of cash and there didn't seem to be much interest. Nick

Nick Jones
Problem is getting stuff that is even anywhere near OE standard. I've got some on the Vitesse at present that produce fantastic amounts of dust, which builds up, causes slip/stick effect that pulses through the hydraulics and makes it feel like the front discs are warped - you can feel it through the pedal and steering both. Clean the dust out and the problem is gone - for a couple of thousand miles. Enough to drive a man to rear discs..... Nick
Martin
The "new" stuff is bad. I changed to OE shoes bought at a well known spare parts day. Excellent. It was Girling and Unipart. Martin
