pomwah
To be, or not to be green, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune Or to take arms against a green sea of troubles And by opposing end them. pomwah
So, seems there is a bit of a push (or putsch even) to keep Pomwah (i.e. my little car) green. I may not agree with what you say but I'll defend with my life your right to say it. May I just point out that the only green "smiley" is "sick", However, in the name of democracy and the maintenance of cordial forum relations, I'd like to run a non-binding plebiscite. The electorate being all members of this site as of 1:41:12 am (AEST) today 20 July 2102. No "ballot stuffing". I'll close nominations for a colour in 10 days and then conduct a poll over two weeks. See you on the hustings. Cheers James (Returning Officer) Edited July 20, 2012 by pomwah

pomwah
LOL I guess that's a vote for green, but which green, there are so many? Cheers James Edited July 20, 2012 by pomwah
pomwah
So, if that ford colour looks a little brown, how about Honda's version of the same thing? A nice Silver-Grey or Grey-Silver depending on your point of view, shows off the chrome nicely! Yes, this is my nomination! Nick B.
This one is rather nice in real life (colour - not the car) Cheers Nick
pomwah
Mazda's spirited green metallic, closest thing to the current colour. VERY Green and a good match for the "smiley"! Colour challenged, style limited, & of doubtful taste, James
pomwah
Mmmm, I'll cover your Arctic Green metallic Fabia and raise you a Platin Grey metallic Yeti, trump that! Colour challenged, style limited, & of doubtful taste, James
Nick B.
That is very green indeed. The skoda is a bit more toned down. I think there is plenty of silver coloured spitfires around. I have yet to see a green metallic one. Be bold! Honestly - you could do a lot worse than the mazda green. Do like my mother and go buy a BMW in - of all colours - Techno Violet!!! pomwah
Yes! I do like that colour, techno violet, very germainic and close to my original thinking ........ Deep Purple! Whoo-hoo. Nick B.
Oh - you like the techno violet? My mother (who is 74 years old) would be flattered :-) I have alays felt strange driving around in that car - purple just really isn't my colour. Still - she is quite right on several things. She insist on rear wheel drive. She plainly refuses to be transported in my dads audi. She likes my spitfire, though she rather doesnt want to be seen in a car lacking HP. pomwah
Another purple WBM: Daytona Violet Metallic: I'll be driving an unusual car, why not make it an unusual colour? Just needs a nomination and the votes. Colour challenged, style limited, & of doubtful taste (but amenable to change), James
Nick B.
I think you would like the techno violet better. It is very dark, and the purple tone only become purple in direct light. The daytona seems to have more red in it. Go to a BMW dealership and examine :-) Cheers Nick
pomwah
G'Dag Nick, Post tag, not phone tag. Your mum is less than 20 years older than me and, plainly, she has good taste and is happy to push the envelope. I'll admit that I don't know anybody, of my own age, let alone in their 8th. decade, who would buy "techno" anything. Cheers James
pomwah
Goddamn asynchronous communication methods. My town is too small for a BMW dealership, or Audi for that matter, next time I'm in Melbourne I'll go take a look. Deep purple, after all, is a good compromise between grey-silver and green. Internet is a strange thing And you are right - my mother pushes the envelope, and in some aspects are downright scary. It is a miracle she has yet to experience a car crash. She has some entertaining stories to tell about racing danish roads in the 50'ies. Favorit games were to race over bridges using both lanes . Hint - don't go to burma in september - she will be there most of the month. Hope they don't let her drive Anyway - if you like purple - then techno violet really isn't to bad. Still - I like the green better. Had always had a soft spot for green cars. Cheers Nick

pomwah
well green, grey, silver... all very dull no? Gerard, I think you must have made a mistake with the link. Of course, if you are nominating pink, I'm prepared to consider it, if it gets enough votes and you have a pink car. Non-interested third party confirmation required. I'm keen to be unique but there are limits. Thanks for the suggestion. Done, Myanmar is off the list, I'll content myself with the crazy drivers in KL, HCMC, Paris or Rome. Might have to miss the Denmark reliability run also. Nick B.
Sorry to burst the bubble Nick, like to think of myself as "young at heart", of course it could just be that I refuse to accept reality. It is OK - reality is kind of overrated. Done, Myanmar is off the list, I'll content myself with the crazy drivers in KL, HCMC, Paris or Rome. Might have to miss the Denmark reliability run also. Cheers James Round Denmark is first weekend of september this year - you will not regret participating Paris drivers is not to bad - used to life there and took my bicykle to work every day. Rome on the other hand is a different experience Cheers Nick Cheers Nick
pomwah
Got to say I drove in Paris 30 odd years ago, it was bad then, who knows what it's like now. I was smart enough not to drive in Rome. Usually come to Europe every year for some reason or another. Came in May this year, whistle-stop eating, drinking and whatever tour of Athens, Warsaw, Prague, London, Manchester and Edinburgh. Took in the City v United game and The FA cup final. Good friends, good times, good beer! I'd need to get a car to do the reliability run, takes too long to ship a vehicle from Australia and too much red tape. One day, maybe. Cheers James If you get to do a reliability run I would advise to do the round britain. So much fun, and much better when 120 cars starts instead of the danish turn out at 5 to 8 cars. The budget way to do the round britain is to become a co driver. I did that in 2008, where I was most kindly invited to drive with Mother Theresa and SteveA. That was absolutely splendid Cheers Nick

Maserati Ghibli Bi-Turbo, maybe he'd be keen to do something like that. Cheers James
Nick Jones
10 Countries is good - I would say more enjoyable than the Round Britain - which is a pretty extreme event and leaves you with your eyeballs hanging out.... Spitfire green looks like the Volkswagen green used on late 70s / early 80s Golf and Sciroccos and again on the the current Scirocco........ Just get it working and enjoy it - looks presentable!
