gt5r
Thought I'd upload some vented discs dimensions as I spent hours trawling the net etc to size a pair for my GT6 - so just found the document I compiled about 8 months ago - its useless info time - been looking to run bigger discs on the front and going to a 16' or 17' rim means the worlds my oyster - the discs below are all vented with a 4 stud fixing to the hub - we all know the 2.8i Capri discs is the common upgrade but I was looking for something bigger - also to move the disc to the outboard side of the hub to dissipate the heat more effectively - hence the increase in 'top hat' dimension - anyway might of interest to some - links are below also - have a read of the Capri sport pages as the throws a different light onto the subject of braking - also worth looking at the VW Corrado discs used on the mgf conversion in the link below - the brake store link has some pictures but more importantly the dimension of all discs - enjoy Ford 2.9 V6 24V Cosworth 1995 - 1998 Vented Mountings 4 Discs diameter 278.0mm Discs thickness 24.0mm Overall height 47.0mm Centre diameter 63.6mm Ford RS 2000 Cosworth 1995 - 2000 MK6 Vented Mountings 4 Discs diameter 260.0mm Discs thickness 24.0mm Overall height 43.8mm Centre diameter 63.6mm Minimum thickness 22.2mm Ford RS turbo 1986 -1990 Vented Mountings 4 Discs diameter 260.0mm Discs thickness 24.0mm Overall height 58.1mm Centre diameter 63.6mm Minimum thickness 22.8m Ford Puma 1.7 - 2000 onwards Vented Mountings 4 Discs diameter 258.0mm Discs thickness 22.0mm Overall height 43.5mm Centre diameter 63.6mm Minimum thickness 20.0mm Peugeot 307 2004 onwards HDI Vented Mountings 4 Discs Diameter 266.0mm Discs thickness 22.0mm Overall height 34.5mm Centre diameter 66.0mm Minimum thickness 20.0mm Ford 2.8i Capri Vented Disc Mountings 4 Studs 4 Disc diameter 245.0mm Disc thickness 20.0mm Overall height 32.0mm Hub hole diameter 68.3mm Peugeot 405 1988 - 1996 MI-16 4x4 Vented Mountings 4 Discs diameter 266.0mm Discs thickness 20.5mm Overall height 27.4mm Centre diameter 66.0mm Minimum thickness 18.5mm http://www.brakepartssuperstore.com http://www.zyworld.com/caprisport/ http://www.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgoc&a=&p=emg/mgftfbrakes.html

triumphlux
Sorry for answering so late, but I have been at the Stoneleigh Show and only came back yesterday morning .... I live in Luxemburg, so it took some time to drive back. THANKS for the details, so I can order them at the local motor parts supplier
gt5r
Luxemburg - wow You will need to re-drill the Capri disc so it has the Triumph disc PCD - if you have a piller drill you can do it yourself - somewhere I have a template - machined a piece of steel so as it locates in the capri disc - has guide holes @ the triumph pcd- either centre punch or drill through the template - its now surplus to me as I am using Ford dics and hubs on my Triumph - if you pay the shipping you are welcome to it as I no longer have use for it - if I can find it that is !!!! triumphlux
I have a small piller drill but my father has a really heavy one so I will do it on that one. The template sounds interseting, if you find it can you check he postage costs for me ?
Gerard
JC, Building a race car to keep up with the traffic? ;D I thought the braking on your Vitesse was ok, with the servo and everything...
triumphlux
Gerard you know that the Vitesse will look like a Herald and generally people driving in Luxemburg always think that old cars are slow ...... so powerfull brakes are a good investment .... and it is quite easy to uprate these brakes ...... so I will go for it
