  1. got the thing running better now and i have an alternator that works any one out there got a gt6 rev counter?
  2. i was conserned about this but i have not moved it far only about an inch or so. i have not setup the geo properly yet but it drives perfect not had any problems yet im goin out to sort out the gearing and altonator that decided to die
  3. didnt get much chance to look at the gearing problem today but this is what i did do and its frying my brain. jack up one rear wheel mark wheel position and propshaft position relitive to body. turn the rear wheel one full rotation count the turns of the propshaft. i was expecting somthing like 3 and a bit ish? i got 1.8 ish? sounds wrong to me but i check it twice and its right? i cant find refrence to a diff this low any where help please also out of interest i marked the engine and wheel and put the car in fifth gear. one rotation on the engine gives just less than .75 of a rotation of the rear wheel
  4. i would sergest that teh 24v unit would not fit. yes teh pump is at teh front driven as you say. fitting this required the removal of the under engine crossmember as well as moving the rack forward. as well as seriously modifing the sump. on top of that tha bulkhead had to be removed and the engine sits so far back that number 6 exhaust port is lookin straight at the pedals. with the engine this far back teh chassis and floor pan have to be changed to allow the gearbox and prop to be fitted. i cant see how you could get anything bigger in. also interestingly this engine is lighter than the orignal the front of the car sits around 1.5-2" higher than before.
  5. right then tomorrow i will do some checks on the diff ratio ect and try to work out whats going on. one things for sure somthings not right as i can easly accellerate away in 3rd gear from a stand still as if it were first! i will keep you posted
  6. speed is gps varified on satnav and engine speed is through orignal ecu data reading. all though i will have to recheck to get exact rpm to speed figures it was a while a go that i checked.
  7. in the bmw that sort of rpm in 5th would equate to about 140-150mph ish so the bmw diff mush have a much taller ratio. that rear end looks amazing however a tad expencive perhaps?
  8. ok so its a 2.5l six pot from an 89 325i sport. with the same gear box. it fits in with out any bonnet mods just. requiring mods to the chassis stearing rack bulkhead floorpan and engine sump. so yes it retains the wet sump. the whole thing was a right f***ing t**t to do and its still not quite right. and yes they are indeed bike carbs. 6 of them from 2 ZZR1100's on a custom manifold it was up and running on the injection system but the bonnet would not close only just fould though. it sounds brilliant allthough im still having some running issues. runs out of puff towards the top end of the rev range and generaly feels "held back" i think this could be fuel starvation but i allready have 2mm dia jets in the carbs and cant get them bigger. the other problem is that the orignal diff if way to low geared for this so flat out is about 80 at about 7500rmp in top. i no the orrignal dif is week any way so any ideas what to replace it with? i was thinking gt6 as a temp mesure untill i can do some more serious mods?
