    • Nah!...take your own corks/tops as well.
    • That's very shiny. BTW in case it is of interest, Chris Witor is now offering 'hard chromed tensioners' for duplex installations. Ian
    • Hello, Well this is apart, so to the next step. Regards, Michael.
    • Good man John. I try and buy refills where I can too. But for all the blether that goes on by small vocal minorities (with this as so much else diversionary nonsense) the majority of peepul in the UK don't really give a damn about anything. So as they're not charities companies aren't going to keep making stuff at a loss. So not sure Unilever should take all the blame here.
    • With time in the evenings, I spent most of it refurbing all the parts. This next stage I'm confident I'm the first person to do this, so anyone else you see eith it copied me The dash veneer was badly cracked so after much sanding i covered it in a carbon fiber effect vinly, and trust me, when you see it on the dash in a few pages time, I hope you'll be inclined to agree it looks quite smart. Front uprights where the next thing on the list. New stub axles and canleys trunionless setup, after reading the horror stories of the normal trunions shearing I closely inspected the threads for cracks prior to purchasing. My Vice actully detonated trying to torque these up, it was on its way out hence why it's strangley being assembled on a diffrent workbench in one of the pics. You can tell its not mine due to the lack of holes everywhere! the next stage was the part that I'd looked foward to since I bought the car! It's like a big mecano set, lots of shiny new parts ready to go back together!
    • Blimey! Completly forgot to update this thread! I finished the gt6 in the end after many many setbacks, enjoyed it for a year or two then with so much going on it got a tad neglected and is now due a bit of a refresh! And yet another engine build as some of you may have seen from my regular laughable posts from last year in the engine section! Anyway, let's try and get this back up to date! After epoxy priming the chassis recieved a nice coat or 2 of valencia blue 2k as did the body The next are things i regret doing. I have no idea why I spent ages painting a really decent finish on the underside and inside the chassis rails to then cover it up with black underbody seal. It does look smart but a few years down the line I discovered an amazing product, dynax UC. Its a similar product but complete clear, completely. Had I had known about it then I would have had nice blue underbody but with a very tough durable finish. Next time I suppose. Before it went to the bodyshop, I agreed to paint the inside too. The bonnet went to the bodyshop first whilst i had a few bits left to do on the tub, it was by no understatement, a huge amount of work, but turned out very well.
    • Do they re-cork them as well
    • On my way to town this morning, spotted a huge traffic queue on the opposite carriageway of the A303. Cause of the queue turned out to be a hearse followed by a horse drawn hearse…..   …. followed by 4 Ford transit tipper trucks travelling in formation to block any passing. Judging by the predominantly pink decorations on the tippers I presume a prominent female member of one of our local “travelling communities” has keeled over. The queue was about 2 miles long when I passed it, and likely doubled before the parade reached the exit, but I suspect that most caught in it will never know what caused it. No picture unfortunately - it was pretty bloody surreal!
    • Interesting idea. What is the origin of the bulk product? Shop needs to be fairly local for full effect obviously. In other news, last night saw the final round of the Woolbridge MC 12 Car series.  Back in the hills and cart tracks of Devon/Dorset borders between Lyme Regis and Honiton. Format was scatter rally this time, which isn’t our favourite thing. Biblical rain added to the fun, with water (mostly fast flowing) covering the tank-trap scale potholes. Was moderately amazed (again) that the wheels stayed on and the tyres stayed inflated. Just as well - a man could easily have drowned changing a wheel! Second in class and quite well down overall, but I think SM is still on for a class win for this season, though not overall this time. This means promotion to “expert” next season, which is a big step up, though probably with some plotting time to lower the intimidation factor.
    • I have been looking up the Triumph SLR  and what TR Enterprises are doing with their recreations.  i found this blog that reminded me of all your hard work John especially the buck ? Wooden form.  https://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/204081/1962-triumph-tr4-slr
