Hello Guys, not been on here for some time, so long infact my old account has gone.

I am a little way into converting my Spitfire into Zetec power. With the new 2ltr engine in the garage and the chassis now altered to take the new engine I am looking at exhausts.

I did try and find Dave's old blog, as he did have some info on his exhaust and how he routed it, has anyone got access to his old blog or is it now gone?

Or has anyone got any info on exhaust for this conversion?

Many thanks

Rob

I'd fit the exhaust under the car if I were you that way any exhaust manifold that hungs the crankcase will do provided the height is effectual. I only made a side-exit as it kept my costs low and it was easy with available stuff.

Blog is there, just sleeping.

If I work on the car again I'll be remaking the exhaust but leaving the main pipe on the sill, just have it kink back under the car by rear wheel to meet a track-day friendly silencer of large size under the boot, probably oversized 2.5" non-straight through type silencer as on a normal car, oversize to reduce any potential restriction, twin pipes sticking out either side of the valance.

Picture shows bend up piece of pipe to run around the sill.

It won't be much use to you anyway :)

Still it gives me an idea on how it was done. I wish I saved a few more pics from your blog.

Cheers mate

Has anyone else done a zetec conversion? I am hoping so as there is a zetecspit on this forum, can I have a photo of zetec spitfire exhausts from downpipes if anyone has a photo.

Cheers
Rob
