Sam
Toyota Altezza RS200 might scrape within your budget. I have one...its fun. Rear wheel drive. 6 speed. 200hp. 50-50 weight distribution. Easy to tune. Only problem is that the back seats don't fold down. Mines done 160,000kms and still drives very well (though i killed the first the engine on a fun run (targa) stage)
logicaluk
hi plastic bloke the mrs has just handed back her company vw passat, pleasant car to drive with tons of space, i was trying to get her to buy a volvo s40 turbo diesel with a chip that made it more economical & quicker, it ticked all the boxes for what i wanted her to have, safe, reliable, quick & fairly cheap to run & maintain, but she didnt think it was stylish enough for her, she saw a citroen c4 vtr+ diesel 3 door & loved the look of it & thats what she ended up with. hope thats some help. sorbs
I saw an W plate Impreza turbo with a huge spoiler the other day for about £3000. I think they are horrible cars but that doesn't mean they aren't huge fun to blast about in if all you want to do is go as fast as is physically possible and part of me is tempted. They tend to be well looked after too so make good used buys. Alternatively, you can't go wrong with a BMW 5 series or a nice SAAB convertible. Saw a stunning one today for £2500 Edited June 11, 2011 by sorbs
mattius
We used to have an S reg impreza turbo estate, awesome car, drinks fuel for fun though and the reason we sold ours is it was starting to develop large problems due to age, whilst they are well looked after they are also thrashed to bits. spitNL
20 years ago?! So around 1990, they 'didn't have that good a reputation here in that time. They've improved their image since then. They still rust, but only after the warranty period. You've been missing out then. Here's the current range, do you know any of these? James
That photo of the 4C was at the Geneva motorshow. Highlight of the show was the Abarth stand. Not for the cars— oh no— I didn't even notice cars on that stand—
