Yes, I know - not a lot really. But then I'm not very fit either. Fitter than I was though....... Not too stiff today.
I notice that on our regular rides I'm now several gears up compared to when I started a couple of months back.

No cycling today but went for a walk up Snowdon with my mate. Stunning day, nice clear weather.

Sunday's plan was to cycle 35-odd km to the coast, catch a ferry to one of the nearby islands, ride around it and then cycle to a train station. Worked perfectly except that the train wasn't running. Result? Slight sunburn, 78km and some sore hamstrings!

The boys and I did 33 miles on Saturday. We discovered that the wind was blowing in an unhelpful direction and that the Somerset levels aren't all that level (sensitive gradient detector the bicycle). I also discovered that suncream would have been a good idea - hello there Mr Tomato-head......
Still I didn't hurt all that much afterwards and I could still walk on Sunday so I'm calling it a win.... The event is next Sunday so that's basically it for heavy training as it seems to take several days to recover. We'll survive. Hope it doesn't rain next Sunday - don't like cycling in the rain!

You'll do it easy, try to get aerobic out of breath bit mid week, it helps to keep the blood aired well
A few squats thursday will help you stay loose

Squats have helped me alot.
Cycling only uses 3/4 of the your muscle travel and the squat uses all of it, so the squats have done good to my muscles in allowing me to ride even easier in the drops as I am used to pressing through from the extremes of my leg movement now. Your muscles become a bit bunched up cycling only. I can feel the squats pulling the muscles out to the right length in a way stretching doesn't do. I do fast squats and slow ones and cycling squats with a double dip at the 90deg shin to knee point.
Note quite alot more power to the pedal now. Had a good period of rest the last week or so, I was quite fatiqued but that's good cause it keeps my moods stable inside a bubble of fatiqued endorphins. I'm looking to just hold station for a few more weeks and just do light cycling but retain my current level and do lower weight lifting levels and swap to doing a bit more back work instead, just work on what I got condition wise with high rep work as I try to "rest" so to overcome the plateau I seem to reach about this performance level as I want to move up a gear over summer.
I've felt quite alot of energy flowing back into me as I rest. I definately work out too hard at times and tire myself or due to my manic I get excessively knackered, or push myself too much. I'm finding a balance right now, long term goals.
Once I have worked a bit more on conditioning rather than size I will more back to harder routine.
I'm in a good place on the bike right now. With a tad more core strength and hamstring limberness I felt able to drop the bars all the way down to the full race position on my "race" frame. I actually lowered the saddle 2mm also.
