Mods - Untangle Thread Diversion Please?

Mods,
I'd report this to draw your attention to it, but i can't find a 'report post' button here. Maybe it's in the the nature of Sideways!

This thread:
http://sideways-technologies.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic/5991-ct-forum-dead/page__st__20

started as a comment on problems at the CT website, but has aquired an erudite discussion of MegaJolt/Squirt applications. The expert experience being posted is just the thing that others would need, but it would be hard to find in retrospect. Please extract the MegJolt/Squirt content and put it in it's own thread?

Thanks!
The only way to get them across to the current software is for a mod/admin to manually update every post in the new thread.
It's absolutely worth doing for our educational/informational threads, and if you think a thread is worthy, this is the place to put in a request.

Another Yank Gt6

As I just joined this site, I thought I would show what I'm working on. 71 MKIII I bought after a body off restoration (race car level, no street car bits) so the frame, suspension body was all "done" and painted Orange! Oh well, I put the matt black hood and graphics on it and think its OK now. I put a full SCCA rated roll cage in it and fabed up the instrument panel with new gauges, etc. Lexan windscreen and back light (and quarter windows). Compmotive 13X6 wheels, Spax adjustable coil overs in the rear with rod end lower wishbone, Adjustable coilovers in front. 8X20X13 Goodyear slicks all round. I made up the front airdam/splitter and front wheel arches (all carbonfiber) and will be doing a CF bonnet as soon as I recover from the engine build program which is in progress. Just finished fitting a TR6 box with a Quaife CR dog ring gear set which will hook up to the new 7lb steel flywheel with a 5.5" dual disc Quartermaster clutch. I will get some under hood shots once all is buttoned up in a couple of months (I hope). BTW, I'm 6' 2" and 200lb and have managed to fit myself in by sitting on the floor (with a backer plate welded on the under side) and back against the package shelf kick up. It's not too bad - the worst part is getting in and out for the over 70 driver!

'gulf' Spitfire - Race Car (Rebuild) Project

As the time has come to re-work the race car, aiming for an April re-launch, I thought it was neater to start a new car thread than spread across the other forums. Please bear with my endless questions.

There used to be a thread on the original build here, but it went missing on the old forum - terminally entangled in the GT debacle

So - started stripping today. Smoke and flame damage all over the drivers side of the engine bay. Carbs are fubarred, melted chokes and seized butterflies - starting again there. Much of the wiring needs replacing, along with master cylinders, oil and fuel pressure lines.

The head was removed back in April, just after the test day fire, to check for damage to pistons/head/bores etc. Fortunately all was well, so whichever bits of molten Weber chokes made it into the combustion chamber made it out again harmlessly. Just needs a surface clean up, new gasket and putting back together.

Which brings me to gaskets. A NOS copper composite came off the engine, put there by GT when he rebuilt this engine. My understanding is that copper is 'best' for race applications as it withstands heat and pressure better BUT tends not to seal as well as say, a Payen. I have both, and can use either - so am interested in recommends - I'll wager GT6Steve has something to say.

Mobile Version/recent Gallery Images

On the mobile version of this site the home page is very wide as there is quite a number of Recent Gallery Images shown, this means that if you want to 'View New Content' from the home page you have to scroll far to the right and then back to the left to select from the menu.
Is there any way of reducing the number of recent gallery images for the mobile version of this forum? Thanks

Photo-Garage-Modification Confustion

So of course it could be my dumbness,
but as a newbie to this forum I'm having trouble figuring out where to post photos.

when I saw the "garage" I figured this was where pics of peoples cars would live,

but then I saw the "gallery"

but then there was "modifications"

I have posted pics in two sections, I think a bunch of them ended up as a topic thread? (weber install)

the next pics I think ended up in the garage?

all pics that went up were posted via different means through the forum.

I'm finding it awfully difficult to figure the correct place to post pics of what I've done to my car.

can anyone give me a heads up?

cheers,
Jim

Hi,
its now a year that I dismantled the engine of the GT6 detecting all the damage
The car is still sleeping, however first signs show up entailing work for the wintertime. I like the winter in the workshop
