Pat's New Chair

Pulling the engine out of the racer this morning I glanced thru the window of the office to check on Pat. I do that often.

What I observed was her napping quietly but all hunched over in the camp chair we've used out here for years. That looked wrong to me so I started searching websites of all the local furniture stores for a small leather recliner. Well small is a very subjective word for Yank recliners and nothing I saw would fit in the office. I took a trip to a warehouse clearance center and looked over an entire 10 acres of furniture that wouldn't sell. And got this.

The recline is electric but she doesn't seem to fathom the buttons. I don't know how much longer we have together but I want those months or years to be happy for her!

Please Read: Forum Etiquette

Right, heres the script:

This forum has survived with very very little moderation for years and hopefully it will stay that way.

However recent and previous events have potential to just destroy our little community into a bad tempered infighting squabble between certain members.

We have always been transparent about everything, and open to all, so here it is out in the open.

I did ban GT temporarily, but then rethought that, it maybe unfair as we are not all being judged to the same level.

From now on I don't care who you are, blatant abuse of others on this forum will not be tolerated, whether that is aimed at GT, Craig or The whole community, and just so we are transparent i expect any other mod to apply the same rules to me!

We have a good community, i don't want to see us loose members cause they are getting abuse or don't like whats happening.

Play nice or the 24hour ban hammer is coming to get you.

More Crappy Parts

Have been doing a cylinder head for the PI this weekend. I've done the ports as per Neils instructions, done a tiny bit of chamber modding and was in the process of fitting new bronze guides.

I made to couple of tools to help press them in, then fitted the inlets, having first measured them to make sure they were correct. They were 12.71 - 12.73mm which is much the same as the cast iron ones which came out.

Then the exhaust ones......... first one measured at 12.71 and was duly fitted. However, the remaining 5 measure at 12.67 - 12.68 and almost install themselves....... one drops most of the way in under its own weight!

Was going to drop the head at the machine shop tomorrow to have inserts fitted....... not now. What really irritates is I actually bought these in 2009 so I can't really send them back!

New From Virginia

Hi All,

I stumbled across this site looking for triumph performance parts and thought I'd join in. I have a jasmine yellow 71' TR6 that is mostly original and in very good shape. New years day my wife and I were out for a spin when the engine made a funky sound I had never heard before and started running very rough. Needless to say it wasn't good. I had broken the exhaust spring on the #3 cylinder. Fortunately, it didn't float down and hit the piston and do more serious damage. I am now in the throws of an 'in car' engine rebuild. Everything was taken off except the crank of course. I have sent the head (3 angle valve, 9.7:1 CR), intake manifold, harmonic balancer, water pump, and rockers off to Wishbone Classics in NY for reconditioning. The original pistons and new rod bearings, new cam (WBC518 street cam), timing chain, thrust washers, and balancer are all back in. I'm waiting for my head, manifold and water pump to come back. Everything has a fresh coat of paint and is looking pretty good. After this phase of engine work is complete I hope to be producing about 135-140 HP. Almost to where this little roadster was originally meant to be.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your machines and getting a little help and feedback from all of your experience as I progress in the rebuild and eventual full restoration of my roadster.

Cheers,
